The following are accounts of several battles in which I have taken part. Normally I have been fighting against my regular opponent Matthew (who has an 8x4' table for our really big battles!), but sometimes our friend Michael will join in if he can. I didn't play BattleTech for some time after getting the basic boxed set. What really set things rolling was when I got hold of a copy of the BattleTech Compendium. With the introduction of vehicles, infantry, Aerospace combat and a whole load of other extra rules, what had initially seemed a little unexciting now seemed far more tempting. A mail order of micro-armour later, and we were ready to go...
(Sorry far any incomplete sections of the battle reports - more will be added soon, but I wanted to get something up-and-running in order to test the links and see how long my images took to load...)
Two mercenary units make use of the Wolf's Dragoons training facilities. The Green Eagles and the Golden Legion lock in simulated combat, to display their skills and attract new employers.
This was our first large scale battle involving a combination of 'Mechs, armour and infantry.
Com Guard forces and Clan Nova Cat battle for control of a world.
The Clans have arrived! In our battles at least...
Following the purchase of BattleSpace and CityTech, we launch a full invasion campaign - from Jump-point to final victory on the ground.
Inner Sphere forces conduct an attack on a strategically important agricultural supply world.
Time for a proper campaign, using larger units than before, and with the challenges of resource-management and unit organisation added. Now that I've got enough OmniMechs and Elementals, a full Trinary Supernova takes on a complete Inner Sphere Battalion.
A Clan punitive expedition from Caripare launches an attack on the Inner Spheroid survivors from the battle.
Following on from the previous campaign - a chance to move our units on, and see what happens next. Resource management is even more important for the Clan forces, and the Inner Spheroids get a chance to try out some of the latest new 'Mechs that Matthew has bought.
Mercenary 'Mech forces confront local infantry and armour units.
Bigger still! A Mercenary Battalion invades, and facing the onslaught is an entire Regiment of conventional armour and infantry (plus any 'Mechs they can afford from the left over combat value points!). Hooray - we've finally bought enough microarmour for a regiment! Our first attempt at playing a really massive strategic game, with an independent GM to supervise all the secret plans and cunning schemes that we can come up with...
An Inner Sphere strike force tries to destroy a Smoke Jaguar anti-orbital defence emplacement to aid the landing of Task Force Serpent.
